Indian Army signs strategic deal for ‘next generation wireless technologies’

Rear Admiral Nelson D'Souza took over as Commandant of the Military Institute of Technology (MILIT), Pune from Air Vice Marshal Vivek Bloria. An accomplished alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and the Naval War College, Goa, Rear Admiral D'Souza has served in various key appointments in the Indian Navy since his commissioning in March 1991.

As the new Commandant of one of India’s premier tri-services technical training institutes, which trains mid-level officers of the tri-services (all three wings of the armed forces) including those from friendly foreign countries, Rear Admiral will focus on further strengthening the academic programmes of MILIT and carry forward the ongoing efforts in jointness and integration in training among the tri-services and enhance collaboration with industry and academia in key technologies.

MILIT under the new leadership aims to prepare highly skilled techno-warrior officers who will transform the armed forces in India into a future-ready force.
