Indian Navy deploys aircraft and teams to flood-hit Andhra Pradesh

Based on requests received from local administration due to flood like situation following heavy rainfall in Andhra Pradesh, Indian Naval aircraft, Flood Relief Teams (FRTs) and Diving Teams from Eastern Naval Command at Visakhapatnam have been deployed to strengthen Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) efforts in the State.

The Indian Navy has so far rescued 22 people stranded in flood-affected areas of Andhra Pradesh. More than 1000 kg of food items have been air-dropped for the stranded persons. 10 flood relief teams have also been deployed to enhance rescue operations.
